What Could Cause A Choking Feeling After A Prolonged Sore Throat?
I have had a sore throat and cough for 3 months now. I have an under active thyroid had have been on medication for one month. I am easily breathless and am going for a neck scan. I feel as if I am being choked and is worse when lying down. Do u think I could have throat cancer or something blocking my throat.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you havechoking feeling after a prolonged sore throat which is due to granular pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to avoid eating and drinking acidic , spicy and hot food and beverages. Do warm saline gargles. Drink plenty of water. If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days then consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and go for swab test. Go for sputum test as well if required and start treatment as per proper diagnosis. You should go for biopsy to rule out condition such as throat cancer. Sip warm water after every few minutes. For dry mouth you can chew sugar-free chewing gums as it stimulate saliva flow. You should use humidifier in your room as it will relieve dryness to some extent.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
