The source of bleeding in enlarged prostate is usually from the rupture of one of the a small veins on the surface of prostate .These ruptured veins get sealed off hence there is transient bleeding in urine (hematuria ) which lasts for couple of hours .
Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis. 1) Urine routine and culture. 2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis 3) Serum PSA. 4) Cystoscopy if required .
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
