What Could Be Wrong Having Crusty Stuff On The Face In The Creases Of The Cheeks And The Skin Is Red?

hi. thanks for your time. about 3 months ago i started having this crusty stuff on my face, in the creases under my cheeks. it s easily picked off, but then the skin underneath is red. and the crusty stuff comes back. then it started under my nose. first started on one side of my face, then that went away, and it came back on the other side of my face, just in the creases under my cheeks when i smile. i ve tried oregano oil, teatree oil, but it continues to COME BACK!!!! what do you suppose it might be and what can i do about it? thanks SO much! Hi,

After reading your query it appears to be simply seborrheic dermatitis..

It is a recurring condition with scaling and crusting at creases and erythematous(reddish to pink) base when the scales are taken out.

In general the condition is more common during change of weather or during cold season.

Topical steroid cream such as mometasone or fluticasone cream with antifungal cream can be applied. Apply in very thin amount so that it should be visible to the naked eye.

Additionally an antihistaminic tablet such as Loratadine can be take for 1-2 times or even up to three time if the itching is troublesome.

Take care.
