What Could Be The Symptoms Of UTI And How To Get Rid Of It?

These past few weeks I've had a itchy feeling in my urethra and I assumed it was a UTI. I took cranberry pills and drank water. It goes away after a day but then the next morning when I wake up to go to the bathroom, it tingles again, but my urine smells horrible and looks very dark. I'm scared there could be something very wrong because at times I have a fishy smell come from the toilet when I've gone pee while taking the cranberry pills. I have also smelled my discharge to make sure it wasn't that either. Please if you have any advice or input I love to hear it.

Greetings

Well the itchy sensation in the urethra, burning sensation while passing urine, odd smell of urine, are some common symptoms of UTI and for complete treatment of the same you have to do much more than drinking cranberry juice and that will entail completing a full course of anti biotic drug regime but that will come after you have done urine routine microscopy and complete blood count with esr investigations which shall tell us about presence infection in urinary tract. If urine routine microscopy shows bacteria then you will have to give your urine sample for urine culture examination which will reveal the bacteria name that is causing infection and accordingly what antibiotic will suit for the treatment will be decided.

Other than the full course of antibiotic you shall also take a 3 day course of anti inflammatory medication to treat your tingling, itchy sensations and discomfort.

I hope this helps.

Regards
