Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Be The Reason Of Foot Pain Generated Due To Wearing Tennis Shoes Without Insole?
The other day I put on tennis shoes without the insole. I did have my hard leather orthotic insole. Wore those shoes for about 8 hours, and of course did some walking at work. Never bothered me until that day. When I get up from sleeping all night it hurts to walk on it a lot. The pain never goes away completely. What could it be and do I need to ice it?
Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
You might have just sprained your foot and in that case, you will need about 3-4 days of anti inflammatory drug to get completely cured. However, in case this does not help, or the discomfort increases, then I would advise you for a Doppler ultrasound for your leg veins to rule out deep vein thrombosis due to unusual excessive use of the limb. Further management would depend on the investigation report.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in planning your treatment. Thanks for using the health care magic forum for your query on health. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
