Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The sudden sharp pain in the big toes can be due to a rise in uric acid levels or inflammation of the joints due to arthritis. A nerve related or vascular cause also needs to be ruled out after an examination.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
