Stoppage of menstruation after age of 45 years suggests menopause. Menopause is associated with symptoms like weight gain, hot flashes, mood swings and many other non specific symptoms. I suggest you get in touch with a gynecologist and get appropriate medication for menopause. Weight gain can be managed by regular diet and exercise. I suggest you calculate the number of calories you eat per day and start some form of regular exercise like brisk walking for about 45 minutes per day. There are many calorie calculators available online which can help you plan a suitable diet regime based on your lifestyle. Thanks.
