What Could Be The Reason For Having Bubbly Looks And Strange Smell For My Urine?

I am a 73 yoa white male. I had my prostate operated on 8 years ago. No special problems. The last month my urine is very : bubbly almost looks like the discharge from the wash machine! Also urine smells kind of funny. My 5 yoa grandson tells me I smell like mayonnaise. What the heck is going on? thanks.

Urologist 's  Response
Hi,
You could be having protein loss in urine which would account for the frothiness. Foul smell could be due to presence of urinary infection. You have not mentioned if you are a diabetic, but this is quite possible if your blood sugar levels have not been in great control recently. I suggest you have at least a complete urine examination done along with an estimation of your Serum Creatinine which could indicate if you have any kidney issues, following which we will be able to tell you whether you need to consult a nephrologist or urologist.
