What Could Be The Reason For Getting Periods Twice A Month After Having Delivery?

Hi there,

I had my first baby 10 weeks ago (forceps delivery). I'm both breast and bottle feeding her. My first period after deliver y started on the 24th of December, was normal and lasted for about 5 day. But then yesterday it started again, it's a lot heavier and bright red. Is it normal having a period twice a month after giving birth?

Many thanks,

Rita

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
Following is my reply :
1) It is normal to have variation in periods initially after delivery.

2) This is because body's functions are trying to come to normal levels.

Let me know if you have any more queries. I will be happy to answer.

Regards,
Dr. Mahesh Koregol
