What Could Be The Reason For Feeling Very Cold?

I seem to have an issue once or twice a year where I wake up feeling terrible. usually i am very cold, even to touch, and have uncomfortable nausea. the only thing that seems to help snap me out of it is a hot shower to warm me back up- but i can wake up sweating underneath 3 blankets and still be cold. Would you happen to have any advice or insight?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there,

Having very cold, nausea, and sweating might be related to:
- common viral infection
- thyroid and hormonal problems
- anemia

If I was your caring doctor would advise to run further tests to determine the right cause:
- complete blood work
- thyroid and hormonal tests
- abdominal ultrasound
- liver/kidney function test
- urine analysis

Depending on the tests results, specific treatment will be prescribed.
