What Could Be The Reason For Ear Pain And Loss Of Balance After Having Bronchitis?

I had a bad case of bronchitis this winter. The bronchitis was almost gone when I started getting earache on the left side and some headache also. I had my Eustachian tubes examined and they are ok. I was given anti-inflammatory medicine and that is helping me. However, I m still getting some loss of balance. What could this be caused by?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your question about the reason for ear pain and loss of balance after having bronchitis.
The commonest reasons are:
Since bronchitis is the infection of the lower respiratory tract, the infection travels up in the pharynx and travels to the middle ear via Eustachian tube to cause inflammation and infection in the middle ear.
From here the infection can travel to the inner ear which has the balancing apparatus called semicircular canals.
The inflammation of these causes the imbalance.

I would advise you the following:
get an opinion of an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation and examination.
CT scan of the brain and the mastoids to find the problems and see the diagnosis is made.
Once the diagnosis is made it is easy to have a proper treatment.
It comprises bed rest.
Medicines stugeron for imbalance.
Proper treatment as per the findings on clinical examination and investigations.
And the most important not to drive, not be alone, do not go near water and fire when alone.
