What Could Be The Reason For Dark Blotches Above Ankles With Itchy, Painful Lumps Like Mosquito Bites On Body?
Hi Doctor, I get these lumps which look like mosquito bites however they feel itchy sometimes and at times are painfull however I have been to a doctor and was advised that it may be an allergic reaction however and was perscribed with a steriod cream but these lumps still have not gone down and at times my ankles are even swollen so what else could be causing these dark blotches above my ankles?

The kind of skin lesions that you have are suggestive of pigmented purpuric dermatosis which is a disease mostly seen in people with prolonged standing job.
Now although this is basically cosmetic problem but it can be a cause of concern in patients especially when it leads to excess itching.
You need application of a topical steroid cream over the affected area.
