What Could Be The Reason For A Strong Vaginal Odor?

Hi I have been to the doctor a time or two for a very strong vaginal odor. The odor is very strong and annoying. I am a virgin so I highly doubt it is a sexually transmitted disease. I have a large amount of discharge but I cannot tell if it is white or yellow. The doctor I have gone to told me to only wear cotton underwear, wash better, and no douching. I now only wear cotton underwear, I wash with a pH balancing wash, and I do not douche. What could this be? Please help!

Hi,

I can understand your concern for strong vaginal odor.

As you are virgin so the possibility of sexually transmitted disease is unlikely.

It can be due to normal vaginal bacteria known as lactobacillus. By the activity of these bacteria, there is a strong odor coming out of vaginal area.
These are the normal flora of the vagina and can change the activity according to the change of cycle.

All these factor in common leads to string vaginal odor. DO not worry you have been provided with good treatment and do follow the same along with maintenance of good hygiene.
