Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
From your description, you seem to be having a patch of alopecia areata.
This is an auto immune condition in which there are antibodies produced against your own hair follicles.
In 70% of cases, if it is a single patch, the hair regrows on its own in about 6 months. You could take intralesional steroid injections and apply a topical preparation containing Tacrolimus under the supervision of a dermatologist to hasten the growth of hair.
It is difficult to predict if it would spread or new patches will develop. It depends on factors like early age of onset, family history, other auto immune conditions, hypothyroidism and history of atopy.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.

Hi,
The patch you have on your scalp is scalp skin. It is likely to spread unless taken care of.You might have been contacted during your visit to your hairdresser through contaminated brush/comb.
The infection needs to be diagnosed by local examination, which will help for prescription of antibiotics & acompaning drugs to cure/avoid spread. So, consult a skin specialist.
Keep the lesion clean & apply antibiotic ointment till yhen.
Thanks
