I am 50 years old and I went in for a thyroid scan and Dr. found a mass on the left side of my neck that is 11 cm. It is not on my thyroid although I do have a nodule on the right side of my thyroid as well. My stomack has been upset and I'm nauseaus. Any idea what this could be?

Those swellings can be due to lymph nodes. In infections, fever, sore throat, tonsillitis, these become swollen and palpable otherwise they are not easily palpable. If the swelling is fixed and hard along with history of persistent fever, night sweats, weight loss then it should be evaluated for the malignancy
