What Could Be The Dark Line On The Back Of My Throat ?

I woke up a few days ago with the window open and it was pretty cold.I do snore a lot as well i thought i throw that in. My right nostril and throat was somewhat irritated. I was thinking oh no not strep throat . But i didnt see any mucos just redness. But what caught my eye was all the way in the back of my throat was a dark line. So i had to take a closer look with a hand held mirror and light. I seen like a dark reddish purple vein like there maybe 1/3 in long and very thin but bigger then other veins i see in there . I dont really remember that there but who knows. Im just wondering can veins get bigger back there overtime? Or is it just irritated from keeping the window open?

Hi welcome to H.C.M.Forum. it is allergic cold with pharyngitis. or viral infection with secondary pharyngitis. pharyngitis is associated with inflamation of pharynx and engorge ment of veins of pharynx. as a home remedy you can do salt water gargling. it will give you relief of 50%.if necessory you can use antibiotics , decongestants anti histamines, and anti pyretics with the advise of a doctor. thank you .
