What Could Be The Cause Of Irregularity In Periods ?

Hi , i m 27 year old married women,problem is that my periods are irregular from last 5 months it delays by 15 days some time 1 month..so i m worried..wat may be the problem?..i m working women bt there is no such high tension or anything like that..plz reply

welcome to healthcaremagic.com.Delayed cycles can be due to hormonal changes(natural or from oc pills), stress, thyroid hypofunction,anemia,infections etc..Do get a ultrasound scan of pelvis to see for ovaries-Cysts/polycyst etc..,get routine blood profile,thyroid profile,blood sugar,prolactin levels and let us know.

Irregular periods can be due to hormonal imbalance;ovarian cysts;stress;anaemia to name a few reasons.Please consult a Gynaec for examination& if she feels she will advise you investigation to find the cause.Once you know the reason for irregular periods then she will prescribe medicines to regularize the periods.
