What Could Be Done For The Cut Caused While Shaving?

I got a cut shaving my bikini line lastnight and it bleed slightly with no pain. Today I was in the middle of having intercourse with my boyfriend and it started to hurt. I asked him to look at it and he told me it was a gash like ripped open skin on the left side. It hurts extremely bad and bleed a little at that point. What should I do?

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

The aim is to prevent secondary bacterial infection of the wound as it heals.

You should apply a topical antibiotic ointment, twice daily for a week. e.g 2% mupirocin OR Neosporin is available OTC.

If I was the treating doctor I would have also suggested a course of an oral antibiotic e.g One from the penicillin group of oral antibiotics (e.g Amoxycillin 500 mg thrice daily) for a week.

Regards
