What Could Be Done For Sleeve Gastrostomy Causing Egg Taste?

I recently had a sleeve gastrectomy (September 7). In the last month almost everything that I drink, and some of the things I eat, taste like eggs. I am taking multivitamins with iron, calcium, B1, vitamin d, and eating a great deal of protein. Are there any ideas or suggestions?

Dear
Thank you for trusting HCM

Altered taste sensation will be common in some patients with sleev gastrectomy.

Causes

exact cause is unknown, many experts believe sensory changes occur as a result of fluctuating hormones in the gut and their effects on the central nervous system. This gut-brain axis as it’s known and its relationship to bariatric surgery is a subject of much research and speculation. In a nutshell, your nervous system relays countless transmissions about your hunger, satiety and cravings each day between your GI tract and your brain. Because the carriers of these messages are affected by changes in weight and the removal of a portion of the stomach, it is highly likely they have an impact on taste, smell, gratification and other sensory perceptions.

Altered leptin and gerlin hormone imbalances may be one of the reason for it. Taste bud morphology also change some patients(due to b1 2 deficiency) . Even taking excessive iron also give metalic taste like feeling
