What Could Be A Left Pelviectasis?

My three year old daughter had been diagnosed about 3 months ago with a UTI. Her pediatrician had her do a exam where she had a catheter inserted all the way to her bladder and then they watched how her bladder and kidneys functioned when she urinated. She also had a renal ultrasound performed. She was diagnosed with having Left pelviectasis at that time. Her doctor decided that she would keep an eye on her kidneys. Just two days ago, she had another renal ultrasound done, and her condition has not changed. She still had Left Pelviectasis. What is that? and what do I need to do or be aware of? We are going to be sent to a specialist for her. I am just a very concerned mother... Please help! :')

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Pelviectasis means dilatation of the renal pelvis.
2. Due to uretric valve abnormality or obstruction, back pressure into left ureter, has led to dilatation of the renal pelvis.
3. Need to identify the source of obstruction. Renal pyelogram is essential.
4. Not to worry, still early stages, Identification and correction is essential.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
