My husband went in this morning to have an endoscopy as a followup from 2 years ago when they said he had some erosion in his esophagas. Today they found a tumor which he biopsied and said to see his doc in 2 weeks when he would have all reports. Tell me a few scenerios about what is happening?
In reference to your query regarding esophageal problem of your husband, who had been diagnosed as having errosion in esophagus about 2 years back and now it is tumour in esophagus which had been investigated by taking biopsy and report is awaited.
As per medical history of your husband biopsy report may come in favour of either benign or mailgnancy. The management will depend on the stage of disease and amount of involvement in esophagus and nearby structures of mediastinum. Mode of treatment may be surgery / radiotheraphy / surgery followed by radiotheraphy / paliative treatment only.
Prognosis depends on the extent and stage of tumour and may be comment only after doing thorough examination and co-relation of physical findings with inferences of investigations.
Regards.
