What Could PPSV And MCV4 Immunization Mediated Painful, hot, swollen Arm Be Along With A Giant Welt Formed?
Hi, Two days ago I received my immunizations for PPSV and MCV4, one in each arm. One of my arms has swollen and is hot and painful to the touch. A giant welt formed this morning. Is this a severe reaction? Or is it normal? In the past I have never had a reaction to an immunization.
I am sorry to hear about this swelling and pain that you have reported. It is a reaction to the injection. This reactions seems similar to that which can be observed after an injection into the skin and not specific to this vaccination. I will suggest that you start taking tylenol/ibuprofen to relief the pain and swelling. Should this continue to persist, I will suggest you seek medical consultation for more evaluation and management.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to request fir clarification and more information if need be. Thanks for using our services. Dr. Ditah, MD.
