What Causes Yellow Mucous From The Anus With Tonsillectomy?

I was just laying in bed and had to pass a little gas, but that was surprisingly accompanied by a large amount of yellow and reddish mucus. I had a tonsillectomy this morning where I was given a general anesthetic, and I m on a pain medication similar to liquid Percocet. Do you know if this is normal or what may have caused it?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of tonsillectomy in the morning, tried to pass the gas in the evening and but a large amount of yellow and reddish mucus came out.
Was on a pain medication.
The Tonsillectomy and the passage of yellow and reddish mucus looks to be coincidental.
As there is no relation,.
It is possible that you have pre-existing colitis and the stress and medications caused it to get re-activated in such a way that the yellow and reddish mucus came out as it is very slimy so that just trying to pass a gas caused it to leak out.
The blood of tonsillectomy can not come out as red but will make id black stools called as Malena.
I would advise you to share this with your Doctor so that this too can be taken care of. Watch for further developments.
