What Causes Yellow Color Semen While Having Gilbert S Syndrome?

I am a male 24 years old and have gilbert syndrome (mild form of jaundice). the other day when I masturbated my semen came out yellow. My first question is will be semen ever be white? if so how can I do that? Secondly, is my sperm even healthy enough to conceive a child even though its yellow in color?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Gilbert syndrome is syndrome associated with abnormal bilirubin metabolism.
The level of bilirubin is slightly elevated and lies above the normal range.
The yellow colored semen could possibly be due to admixture of urine with semen.
Even if the color of semen is yellow, it will not interfere with sperm count, sperm motility or sperm morphology.
Thus, it will not interfere with conception.
You can get semen analysis to assess various parameters of sperms- count, motility and morphology after atleast 3 days of abstinence.
Yellow discoloration of semen can be due to mixing of urine thus, a repeat semen collection is recommended and then note the color.
Normal color of semen is gray-white and not white.

Thanks and take care
