What Causes Whooshing Sound In The Ear?

I just started taking Metformin for my type 2 diabetes, I'm hearing a wooshing sound in my left ear. I also have a lump on my thyroid, rt side and I am sick so I'm taking cold medicine. could that be the reason it just started tonight. I also take half a pill for cholesterol which I just started taking.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
ya it seems to be due to cold in your case.. take some nasal decongestants and have stem inhalation, it will be treated the time your cold is fine
