What Causes White Spots On Tongue,sore Throat & Tonsilitis
10 day course of penicillin vk two tablet 4 times a day and there were still white spots on my tongue. Lab did a culture of my swab and said it responded to penicillin vk. This is 7th day of another 10 day course of penicillin vk, white spots still not gone and sore throat. Very worried as I have exams coming up so I need to get better. Why is it not going if the lab said it would? I am 17 and healthy apart from this recurring tonsillitis. To be honest it doesn t feel like tonsillitis because I feel ok except the spots and a headache but they did do a swab. I just think it s weird that my symptoms are different. PLEASE TELL ME why is it not going this is my second 10 day course :( oh and they tested for glandular fever but it came back negative.

Hi , as per your clinical history it appears as you are having Chronic tonsillitis.
If you do not feel like tonsillitis , having only headache & white spot in tonsil then don't worry .
Antibiotic course will not remove all white spot. They are due to infected material inside holes in tonsil where antibiotic while not reach always & this lead to recurring tonsillitis.
Start use antiseptic mouthwash , Plenty of fluids & paracetamol for headache .
If recurring tonsillitis affecting your daily life , consider for tonsillectomy.
