What Causes White Lumps On The Tongue And Throat?

I just noticed white bumps on the tongue and back of throat of varying sizes. They re not painful. I ve had a strange feeling in my throat and chest the last couple of days, like a mild discomfort and now the bumps. What could they be and can I treat it myself at home?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. The white bumps you are noticing on the tongue and throat might be due to candidiasis, a fungal infection, though it is difficult tell with confirmation without having a look at the bumps.

You can start taking antifungal agents such as Fluconazole 150 mg (Fole) once a day for 5-7 days. Keep good oral hygiene and drink lots of fluids.

If the white bumps do not decrease or resolve in 5-7 days, then you should visit a dentist for the clinical examination of the area and further investigations regarding the bumps.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
