Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is an electrician and works everyday.. He has white heads all behind his ears.. But he has this little puss filled knot right behind his ear under the earlobe. I have drained it and sometimes it will get better but its been coming back.. What can cause this? Please help
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pus filled lesions behind and below the ears is probably not due to white heads. White heads are pin head sized white colored structures commonly seen on face. The white color is due to deposition of keratin debris in the pores. They may get infected but once infected they turn into boils and do not remain white heads. I suggest yor to consult your primary health care provider for clinical assessment. Draining the lesions on your own may spread the infection. Thus, an antibiotic cover is required to treat the infection.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
