Hello,
Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns.
All the symptoms that you mentioned in your query (except loss of appetite) can be due to
hyperthyroidism. Thyroid gland is present in your neck near the Adam’s apple which secretes T3, T4 thyroid hormones. If for any reason it starts producing excess hormones it is called hyperthyroidism. Symptoms appear within a few months – patients complain of loss of weight, sweating, palpitations, breathlessness,
anxiety, hair loss etc. There is actually increased appetite.
You could get your TSH, T3 and T4 levels checked first. Also get an ECG as you are complaining of palpitations. If they are abnormal, your doctor will start you on treatment for it.
If the T3, T4, TSH tests are normal, you may need to get other tests like ESR, Complete blood picture,
Creatinine, blood glucose etc. This will rule out other conditions like
anaemia,
diabetes, kidney problems, gastrointestinal problems where you have similar symptoms. Based on these reports, your doctor would treat you.
I hope this answer has helped you.
