What Causes Weight Gain?

I am 24 year old girl. I have problem of over weight. I do work out regularly and control by not eating fat items. But due its very difficult to maintain by not putting on weight. After reducing weight to some extent, I had stopped working out and was maintaining by control diet and walk. But due to stress and tension I have observed that my I put on weight. I easily put on weight. In over a week itself I can observe that I would have increased a lot. Is there any harmonal problem? Why is that for stress and tension I put on weight?

Hello,
First thing weight loss is not easy has weight gain. Make up your mind to loose certain amount in a month, after reaching put next goal to yourself. so that it maintains. Cutting total calories is important than only on fats. Check your thyroid & sugar which r common reason for weight gain.

Whenever you are stressed the body liberates a hormone called cortisol to help you deal with stress. This in turn cause you to gain weight , have thinner skin, lose hair . For your age i would recommend you to take up some physical activity that causes you to be vigourous like dancing, running or a sport that you like. It would also help you deal with stress as exercising releases hormones called endorphins to counter your stress. also when you eat have food that is filling like salads or wholewheat breads instead of tea, coffee and other caffeine containing products. This in turn would also make you have a better digestive system.
