My mother who is 80 had stomach cancer and they removed her stomach on 19 Dec2014. She is fed through a feeding tube but is also able to eat a minimal amount of food by mouth. She has been back to the doctor for various set backs during the months after surgery. Most of her problem is due to the fact that she spits up what little bit of food, bile, water, or whatever is in there at least 3-5 times a week . The doctor told us to give her Tums, but that s doesn t help all the time. She spit up water and some of the formula from the feeding tube. She s extremely weak and she s loosing weight. She s 4.10 and weighs 94 lbs. she s now loosing about a pound every week. Is there anything other than tums that you would recommend we ask our doctor to give her. Could this now be a reflux problem and would a drug like omeberzole be a medication we should ask the doctor for? We are at our wits end.
