What Causes Waves In Vision After A Laser Surgery?

I had laser surgery two weeks ago for a left retinal detachment. He wasn t sure if it would hold, I go back in 3 weeks. Today I m seeing some waves, or swirling in the upper right quadrant which is where the initial vision loss was (I hadn t realized I could not see in that upper quadrant). I m wondering if this is normal or if it is beginning to tear again and maybe I should contact the surgeon. ? Thanks for your help
