What Causes Vomiting Post Inhalation Of Ammonia And Bleach Fumes?
I'm 44 my baby 18 months...after cleaning the church today with ammonia &bleach We both gave rfun run nose..my son threw up a few times my throat is irritated and Iccan'tstop ssneezing. what should I do..my baby finally went to sleep is he inany danger
As per your query you and your child started having symptoms of vomiting post inhalation of ammonia and bleach fumes is because of ammonia poisoning. Mixing of ammonia with bleach is highly injurious as this causes the release of toxic chlorine gas, which can be deadly.
I would suggest you not to give your child milk or water as child had vomit, this will make difficulty in swallowing for child. If the chemical is on the skin or in the eyes, flush with lots of water for at least 15 minutes. Visit physician immediately to seek medical help as sometimes these poisoning symptoms could be severe. Administration of humidified oxygen and bronchodilators and airway management is the only antidote for ammonia poisoning.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
