What Causes Vomiting In A Epileptic Person While Cleaning Ears?

My husband was hit with a brick on the left side of his head. He now has a plate on the left side of his skull, he is epileptic, has PTSD, and these are just a few of the side effects. One strange one is, when cleaning his ears he will vomit. Is there anything we should be worried about? I have asked multiple neurologist and they kind of blow it off due to the other issues he has going on.
