What Causes Vomiting From Mouth And Nose In Case Of Death Due To MI?
My Mum died of a MI and apparently death happened within minutes. She had went to the toliet and my brother was down stairs. He heard her leave the toilet and then go to bed. Within mins he heard strange noises, so he went upstairs and saw Mum lying on her back on her bed with vomit coming from her mouth and nose. He tried to clear it, but it kept on coming. Her breathing got shallower and eventually he had to do CPR, the paramedics arrived and spent 30 mins trying to get her heart started. Why was there vomit coming out of her mouth and nose? From the way she was just lying flat on her back, is it possible that she may have had a silent heart attack or a painless heart attack? Would it be possible to die instantly?
Dear Sir/ Madam It is really sad to hear of death of your mother. Yes, vomiting is a known manifestation of MI. It happens more frequently with inferior MI than anterior MI. Silent or painless heart attacks are well known especially in patients with diabetes, neuropathy and very old age. Acute MI can take away life instantaneously. The similar presentation may also occur with massive bleeding in the brain. sincerely Sukhvinder
