What Causes Vomiting Every Morning In A 17 Year Old?

My 17 year old son has been vomiting almost every morning for 3 and half months. He went on prescription strength Zantac and it didn t stop the vomiting. His vomiting happens shortly after waking up then he is fine the rest of the day and evening. The vomiting usually wakes him up and is around 6 am. He also is waiting for an appointment with a urologist. When the hospital did an abdominal CT to check his appendix there were bladder polyps found. Also an abnormality with his left ureter. He has had several kidney infections over the past 2 years. My fear is that he has some form of cancer that has spread to his brain and is causing raised ICP symptoms with the vomiting. He also has had blood and protein in urine on and off over the past few years and flank pain and the common symptoms of bladder infections with no diagnosis of infection just blood and protein. Should I be concerned and demand that the polyps be removed and biopsied.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of vomiting in the morning of a 17 year old son almost every morning for the last 3 and half months, a long time to suffer. CT scan for appendix showed bladder polyps, waiting for Urologist's appointment. Also have abnormal left ureter, several infection of the urinary tract in the past.
My thoughts:
It is obvious that the abnormality of the ureter and the bladder polyps and may be obstruction in the urinary system be the cause of the urinary symptoms and will be diagnosed and treated by the Urologist.
Te only morning vomiting usually occurs in a condition called Achalasia cardia.
This can be diagnosed by Upper GI Endoscopy and a classical barium swallow tests and if present there are few modalities of treatment from simple dilatation to surgery.
