Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
Antibiotics have no role in a viral infection and in an EB virus infection, Augmentin can make things worse. The symptoms he has are related to the antibiotic inappropriately used. If there is no rash, fever or severe symptoms, you may wait. If not it is better to see a doctor and have proper treatment.
Take care,
Dr Noble Zachariah
