What Causes Vomiting And Diarrhea?

Since yesterday evening, my 12 month old has been throwing up, usually after having his bottle. He's not running and is acting normal? He's also not running a fever and has had diarrhea twice since last night. Is this just viral? I find it odd that he's acting normal but is getting "sick." He has refused all food, but has wanted his usual bottles of formula, but in smaller amount. He averages 20 oz. a day plus three meals, but today has kept down about 19 oz. Should I take him to the doctor's office tomorrow? Could it be something other than viral?
