What Causes Vomiting After Taking Doxycycline?

I had a cystoscopy on Friday. my doctor called in doxycycline and I did not know he did this until today, Sunday because no one told he they were going to call it in. Anyway, I went and picked up the medication 100mg (I weight 107 lbs). About 20 minutes later I was vomiting does that mean the medication is to strong. And will I be ok since I just started taking the meds and should have been taking them 2 days ago.

I understand your concern.
Vomiting after taking antibiotics like Doxycycline could happen because of drug induced gastritis.
Kindly do the following to sustain the drug after its intake.
1. Drink good quantity of water prior to taking the medication.
2. Consume liquid anaesthetic-antacid syrup like Mucaine Gel prior to taking of medication.
3. Take the medication about 45 minutes after food.
This should help you to overcome the problem.
