What Causes Voice Hoarseness And Headache After Choking Feel In Throat While Eating?
I choked for about half a minute this morning on a ball of rice. Since then, my voice has been hoarse and I ve been coughing up grains of rice and have a headache on the right side that pulses when I touch my scalp above my right ear. I m 24 years old, 65 kg, 163 cm. Is this something for which I should go to the emergency room, or can it wait a few days?
Hello Thank You for contacting HCM. I read your query carefully. Its nothing to worry about. Hoarseness of voice and coughing is due to choking. And headache is due to constant coughing. I would advise you:- >- Take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect. >-Take Diphenhydramine + Dextromethorphan for cough. >-Take lozenges for throat irritation and hoarseness of voice.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. Wishing you good health.
