What Causes Vibration On Palm And Finger?

Hi, I am experiencing vibration on left hand palm and the little finger. I am wondering if it can be caused due to extreme cold. I was exposed to extreme cold in Greenland recently although did not feel it for a month. What may be the possible cause and the treatment.

Hello!

Welcome to HCM and thank you for your question!

Your symptoms may be related to a pinched nerve (ulnar nerve) or to a vessel dysfunction (spasm), related to the cold weather (although it would bevery rare to occur only in one finger).

Did these symptoms start before going to Greenland?

Do these symptoms occur mostly during day or night?

I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical examination for neurological signs.

A nerve conduction study would be necessary to rule in / out a possible compression of the ulnar nerve.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
