What Causes Vasoconstriction In Left Wrist?

I am currently prescribed Adderall XR 25mg twice a day for ADHD. I took my meds regularly on Wednesday, but pulled an all-nighter in order to finish some work. During the day I took my same doses as normal. Thursday night, I got a good 9 hour sleep, and woke up today feeling completely fine. All of the sudden about 2 hours ago, I've been having some pretty bad vasoconstriction in my left wrist area (blue veins). I drank a good amount of water 30 minutes ago thinking it may have been dehydration, but evidentally that isn't the case. There also feels like there is some slight pressure on the sides of my head. It's really start to freak me out, there aren't any doctor offices open, and I'm not stepping foot anywhere near an ER. If this isn't a medical emergency, I'll just sleep it off, but I'm just trying to make sure I'm fine. Thanks.

Hi there,

Adderall increases sympathetic activity and can cause vasospasm (spasms or contractions of the arteries). I don't believe this is a medical emergency from the description of your symptoms. I would stay well hydrated, and apply a warm wash cloth to the area. If you can't feel a pulse in the area, or you start to have severe pain, then I would seek medical attention. I hope I've answered your question. Please contact me should you have any further questions.
