What Causes Vaginal Spotting?

I have had just a few specks of vaginal bleeding, pink. I am 56 years old and in good health. Is this something I should worry about? it has only happened maybe 3-4 times in the last month. I have not had any menstrual cycle for about 6-7 years.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern,
Spotting after recent menopause can be normal ( cervical polyp/thinned out endometrium / atrophied cervical canal)... but spotting after 6-7 years stoppage of menstrual cycle ( menopause) rarely causes it.
Such bleeding is not normal . You need to visit your gynecologist for examination & investigations to find the cause/ STD / exclude/ confirm more serious possibility of cancer- followed by specific treatment immediately.Early diagnosis & prompt treatment forms the moto for treatment.. which offers good chances of relief.
Thanks
