What Causes Vaginal Spotting Post Expiry Of Implanon?

Hi my implanon has been expired for 3months now... I have never had any problems with my period. It starts on time every month but this month I am only spotting an I started spotting 2days before my period was suppose to start. An thats werid for me .On last month in Jan. I had unprotected sex at the end of my period. I have gain alot of weight since then. My breast went up a cup size an my sense of smell has increased. I am having pregnant like symptoms. I have taken pregnancy test an got a neg. Will the expired implanon exfect my test. Why am I spotting instead of have a period.could that mean that I am pregnant

Hello dear
Understand your concern.

Implanon is type of long-acting reversible contraception, the most effective form of birth control.
It inhibits the ovulation and implantation..

Common side effects of implanon are below:
Irregular bleeding and spotting: Delayed period, dysmenorrhoea
weight gain
Ovarian cysts
Acne

So I think it may be withdrawal side effects.
It will take 6-10 week to become regular in some case.
It is generally due to hormonal imabalnce and body try to accomodate without implanon

If not resolved
You can consult the gynecologist:
Do the full hormonal profile like E2, FSH, LH, pogesterone, HCG, Prolactin, Thyroid profile.
If necessary endometrial biopsy, follicle study and USG.
