What Causes Vaginal Spotting After Intercourse?
Hi. I have a question... I recently had a sexual intercourse and we have used a condom. however, the next day i had a few blood spots on my lingerie. At the moment it is still going on, put it looks like blood discharge rather than a period. What is your advice ?

Most common cause of light spotting after having sex is bleeding from cervix ( the lower part of uterus). Cervix has high blood supply & Even when cervix is healthy, vigorous sex can cause some bleeding. This mostly occurs when you have vaginal dryness or less vaginal lubrication. However you should first confirm that it is not starting bleeding of your menstrual period.
However bleeding from cervix can be because of some abnormality in cervix. In case of cervix abnormality, even gentle sex in presence of enough vaginal lubrication could cause bleeding. Therefore a Pink spotting could be a sign of cervix abnormality.
If you have never got a pap smear test done previously, You are advised a pap smear to ruleout a cervix problem.
Refer to a gynaecologist.
