What Causes Vaginal Fungal Infection After Taking Methotrexate Injection For Ectopic Pregnancy?

Had ectopic pregnancy for which methotrexate injection was given 6 months back. But from that time experiencing vaginal fungal infection for which dr says its because of that injection which will eeduce immunity levels. What should i do now as am expereIencing fungal infection?

It is true that methotrexate injection can lower your immunity and thereby cause a fungal infection. Fungal infections of the vagina can be treated easily using antifungal medication. It can be either oral tablet or vaginal tablets to keep inside the vagina. You will have to have treatment for about 1 to 2 weeks. Kindly get a prescription from your doctor for the antifungals.
In addition you have to take folic acid supplements to counter the bad effects of methotrexate injection. That should get your immunity back to normal and would help killing the fungus from your body.
