What Causes Vaginal Bleeding?

My 92 year old mother had a hysterectomy about 50 years ago. She got up from her chair the other day and there was pale, bloody looking liquid there. I asked if she was having trouble urinating and she said no. I believe it may have been vaginal. What s up?

She needs to be seen by a gynaecologist. In addition to local inspection, examination, an ultra sound may be required to rule out any thing more serious.
