What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post Vaginal Intercourse?

I have a problem. I didn t have a sexual contact with anyone for more than 6 months but yesterday I had a sexual interaction with a male 3 times. Today I found my vagina bleed a lot and I feel a great discomfort in my private area. I am very worried and not sure what to make out of it.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Most common source of vaginal bleeding post intercourse is bleeding from cervix ( the lower part of uterus). Even when cervix is healthy, vigorous sex can cause some bleeding. This mostly occurs when you have vaginal dryness or less vaginal lubrication. Low vaginal lubrication could occur fro decrease in levels of oestrogen hormone, insufficent arousal (foreplay) etc.
Bleeding from cervix can be because of some abnormality in cervix such as an infection. In case of cervix abnormality, even gentle sex can cause much bleeding. If you have never got a pap smear test done previously, You are advised a pap smear to ruleout a cervix problem.

Refer to a gynaecologist.
Hope this information helps
