Im waiting to be seen at hospital, my period started oct 17 &ended23rd. On the 25th my husband & i had sex. Afterwards i had bad abdominal cramping for a while, went to bed, woke up at 3am in a puddle of blood. The blood in the bed thing happened every day including today. Day before Yesterday @3am i removed tampon and it was like a plug and alot of blood splashed out all over! Again today around 4i woke up to a red mess. Later it looked like i peeed blood! Now its clear but im very tired. I keep loosing weight over the past year due to stress. Im 107 now & 5'7" tall... oh and yesterday i woke up drank water with my wellbutrin and vomited green liquid. Everytime i took a sip i puked. I finally ate last night. I had cereal this morning. Still a bit nausiated.... what do u think. Also i started fentanyl patch 2days ago, felt good 1st day except for blood. Then next day pukefest.... i took it yrs ago with no problem. Previousely on morphine for chronic back & neck pain...

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for asking Healthcare Magic.
Actually, there are many conditions that can cause contact bleeding. They include: cervical dysplasia (precancerous changes of the cells that line the cervix), cervical polyps (growths), uterine polyps, infections (chlamydia, gonorrhea, cervicitis and trichomoniasis). With this presentation, I think cervical dysplasia and uterine polyps need to be ruled out. You need to see a doctor (preferably a gynecologist) who will examine you by inspecting your conjunctiva (you may have lost a lot of blood as a result of prolonged bleeding) and then do vaginal examination to see the condition of the cervix. After, some tests like blood count and scans may be demanded.

I hope that answers your query.
I wish you well
