What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Unwanted 72?

I am 25 i had unprotected sex on 24th aug wich was last day of my periods and then took ipill after dat . Again on 30th i had sex but with condom, unfortunately it broke so i had to consume unwanted 72 on 31st and rightafter 2hours of taking the unwanted 72 pill i got bleeding and get spotting . This is withdrawal symtom but i am worried as the bleeding is on for 6days now and it smells bad as well sometimes Please tell what as happened and should i go to gynecologist for any test that you recommend. I want to check if my ovaries are healthy! Please reply

Thanks for asking. I understand your concern.
Unwanted 72 is an emergency contraceptive pill. It is to be taken conservatively only after unprotected sex to avoid pregnancy.
You had taken it twice in a week...first dose on 24th August which was end of your menstrual bleeding & so was a safe period & did not need any contraception.This was followed by another dose of unwanted 72 -on 31st of same month.
The bleeding after the second dose was withdrawal bleeding due to pills on 24th.Now the repeated intake of emergency contraceptive would create hormonal imbalance & the spotting you have may stop for few days & start again after few days... creating an abnormal bleeding pattern .
You have to observe the bleeding these days, take rest, light food and maintain genital hygiene till the imbalance is corrected with changed bleeding pattern. Normal periods can resume after few days to months with expectant management.
* In case you have profuse bleeding / some other problem like fever,you have to consult a gynecologist for needful medicines .
